  • Jane McFarlane

As a child, Jane wondered about life and death with a sense of awe. In middle age she developed painful arthritis, and attended an Iyengar Yoga class. To her surprise, her childhood sense of mystery flooded back as she was instructed through various postures. She entered the teacher training program in 2010 under Lauren Cox of Victoria, and was formally assessed and certified in 2013. She studied asana, pranayama, and philosophy under Shirley Daventry French, Lauren Cox and Ty Chandler.  She recently moved to Collingwood to be closer to family, and is delighted to be able to continue her yoga journey with Lori Berenz.

Jane has a sincere wish to join others in the great exploration of the path within us that Yogacharya B. K.S. Iyengar has lit up. Jane is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher.

  • Amanda Casey

Amanda has been studying and practicing yoga since the early 2000’s. However, it was not until she began attending classes based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar, that things really started to shift for her. It was during this time that she began to develop a love and deeper understanding of her own body. Amanda was able to listen and learn about what her body was telling her, and to work to attain balance, strength, and clarity. Amanda continues to practice and teach with this philosophy of quieting the mind to bring awareness to the body. In class, students find her humour and uplifting spirit motivating as they move through their practice.

Amanda is so excited to begin this journey with you as she herself is returning to yoga after a brief maternity leave. Amanda is currently in teacher training with Lori Berenz. She is a very proud wife, mother of two children and a special dog, Gemma.
